Flash Flood Warning issued for Marion County

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a flash flood warning for Marion County until 4:15 p.m.

This includes the city of Columbia, Kokomo, Sandy Hook, Morgantown, Goss, Holly Springs and Bunker Hill. At 1:22 p.m. the National Weather Service Doppler Radar detected thunderstorms producing very heavy rain near Columbia.

Excessive amounts of runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of urban areas including highways, streets, underpasses and low lying areas. Never drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.

This Afternoon: Snow likely, possibly mixed with sleet. Cloudy, with a high near 42. East northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Snow, possibly mixed with sleet, becoming all snow after midnight. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 31. Northeast wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Friday: Snow, mainly before noon. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 37. North northwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. North northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Calm wind.
