Vandals busted windows out of four county trucks at the Beat 1 Barn this week, according to Marion County Supervisor Randy Dyess.

Dyess told the Marion County Informer this morning that the vandals caused $3,700 worth of damage to the trucks by throwing rocks through the windows of a dump truck, two pickups and a service truck Monday night or early Tuesday morning. Dyess discovered the vandalism Tuesday morning and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office.

The fence surrounding the barn had been cut to gain entry, said Dyess, noting that no arrests have been made. He said “everybody knows whose doing it” but it’s a matter of actually catching them.

This is not the first time vandalism has occurred at the barn located on Gates Road, Dyess said, adding that about two months ago the blinkers were knocked off a garbage truck. On another occasion gas was siphoned from trucks at the barn, Dyess said.

Hey. That’s my tax money you idiots. Go throw rocks at trees.

That’s my tax money ,too. but it is too bad that the “COUNTY BARN” will become the personal Property of Dyess if he “retires” or is not re-elected. The best idea I heard during the last election was for the county to buy land and put the “County Barns” on that landmwhere it will be solelt the property of the county from that day forward.

I think “grasshopper” has alot to say about Dyess. Is this personal? Maybe comments should be left at that, just comments instead of “attacks”. If you want to talk about someone getting the county barns for personal property, why not talk about the people that had barns built next to their own homes?

  2. Sane says:

Grasshopper and anyone else that is interested…. the Beat 1 barn already is county owned. Randy did this when he was elected. He had the forsight to see that this would be best for the county and Beat 1. The Beat 1 land and buildings belong to “us” citizens of the county. So, idiots, that is my tax money and if I see you doing it…. rest assured, the law will be called.

Sane, is it actually county property or is it just on loan to the county until Dyess is all done with his “job” as supervisor? I do not recall anything in the county or Beat one budget about the purchase of land for the beat 1 barn. But, of course, as all political candidates, I may be incorrect, (in assuming that he just followed suit by “allowing” the Beat 1 County Barn to be built on his personal property).

  3. Jughead says:

Whatinell does the location of the barn have to do with this story? The windows on the trucks at the barn were taxpayer’s windows. Where they were located is irrelevant. Remember, the VANDALS stole the handle, threw the rocks and burned the RR trestle…

IT REALLY SOUNDS LIKE ” GRASSHOPPER ” HAS IT IN FOR MR.DYESS. THE COUNTY BARN IS NOT BUILT ON HIS PERSONAL PROPERTY. IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE AND BUINDING SOMETHING ON PERSONAL PROPERTY WHY DONT YOU LOOK ALMOST ACROSS THE ROAD FROM WHERE THE COUNTY BARN IS NOW. MR. STRINGER HAS HIM A REAL GOOD BARN BUILT BY THE COUNTY RIGHT BESIDE HIS HOUSE. GO FIGURE. MR DYESS HAD ENOUGH FORESITE NOT TO PUT THE PEOPLE IN BEAT 1 IN ANY MORE DEBT,HE TOOK THE BARN WHERE IT IS NOW WITHOUT ANY QUESTION. TO ME THAT SHOWES ME HE IS TRYING TO LOOK OUT FOR HIS BEAT. CHECK AROUND AND SEE WHO HAS THE COUNTY BARN ON THEIR PROPERTY NOW. 4 YEARS AGO, EVERY SUPERVISOR IN EACH BEAT HAD THE ” COUNTY BARNS ” BUILT ON THEIR PROPERTY SO THEY WOULD GET IT IN CASE THEY WERE NOT ELECTED. SHOOT,I WOULD LET THE COUNTY BUILD A NICE BARN ON MY LAND IF I KNEW IT WOULD BE MINE IN 4 YEARS IF I WAS NOT ELECTED.SOUNDS LIKE A WIN – WIN SITUTION TO ME??????

To all interested parties, I am aware of the locations of the county barns. I do not “have it in for Mr Dyess”. This particular article was specifically about his beat and the barn for that beat. If I am incorrect, I sincerely apologize for my negative statements pertaining to Mr Dyess and the location of the barn in his beat. However, it is numerous people in Mr Dyess’ beat that I got my information from. After checking with a county office, I could not get the information as to who actually holds the deed for the land that the barn is located on. Once again I do apoogize for my statements if in fact I am incorrect.

  5. Citizen says:

Mr. Rowell in Beat 4 did the same thing. He had “his” new barn built on 16th section land so that it belongs tom the citizens. Not an individual. The ones talking about Randy Dyess don’t know him.

  6. 2cents says:

Well if its on his land, can he protect the equipment a little better? If someone is taking time enough to do this type of damage, it was not a “run-by-rocking!”
I have an idea for a cheap alarm system! I have 1 and it only costs me a few bags of food a month and will let me know if the neighbors are on their own property! ;)
