A Marion County man has been indicted on a charge of statutory rape.
The indictment alleges that Marcus Woodward, 20, had sex with a girl on or about Feb. 25, 2009. Woodward was 19-years-old at the time of the alleged incident, and the girl was 13, according to the indictment on file in Marion County Circuit Court.
Woodward was booked into Marion County Jail on Thursday and bonded out the same day. Woodward could not be reached for comment.

If this happened in Feb. why so long?
its the way things are done here in columbia, marion county, area.
Just a thang, thats been going on for a long time,in town.
I would assume it’s more like, it took that, long, for the incident, to be reported and, investig, ated. ,
well that sucks. used to ride school bus with him. neighbor.
bye bye
Febuary 2009 at that!
Marion County is slow about getting anything done. If there is enough evidence on the person they should go ahead and persue the issue.
only thing marion county isn’t slow on is , lieing.
Wonder what is going on in this county? Seems like this is the umpteenth person arrested lately for such a crime.
concerned citizen…it takes time to gather evidence..i dont think we want innocent people in jail just because some girl got caught by her parents and cried rape…now im not saying this happened but i would rather take the time to gather the evidence first…
OMG!!!LETS SEE HOW FAR THIS WILL GO
he doesn’t look like the kind…so many 13 year olds are way beyond their years and if it’s investigated to see if it was consensual, it will probably look alot different…
got answers must be a cop
Your point??
god ant asleep i know the girl and marcus and he is a good kid
i pray right now for him in jesus name
to “the local” no I am not a “cop”….I am just someone who has seen it before where a girl gets caught so she claims rape…and why should’t the evidence be gathered first? what if it was you or yours…then what????? I don’t know this guy and I don’t know if he did it but he is innocent until proven guilty…or so I thought….
