Vanna Flowers of Columbia said she is innocent of child molestation.

A Columbia woman charged with child molestation told the Marion County Informer today that she is innocent of the crime.
“I didn’t do it,” said the suspect, Vanna Flowers. “What’s the evidence?”
Flowers was arrested in April for allegedly touching a 14-year-old girl without consent in September of 2009. She spoke with the Marion County Informer today after making an appearance in Circuit Court in which she told the judge she would hire her own attorney.
Flowers, who admits she’s a lesbian, said she was just sending text messages to the girl. “It was never nothing physical,” Flowers said, adding that she is in a relationship with a 19-year-old woman. “We were just friends. We’ve been friends a long time.”
She claims the girl’s mom got mad at her and filed the false charges. “She pressed charges to try to prove a point,’ said Flowers. “I’m not guilty. I’m not worried about it.”
Flowers, 22, added that she is not angry about the charges being filed. “I smile about everything,” she said.
She does not think the allegations have harmed her reputation. “Everybody knows I’m not that type of person,” she said.
Everybody know about venna, the mothr also knew who and what venna was so she need to drop the chargers
not everybody know Vanna , but everybody do know that a grown woman ,yes woman have no business under no circumstance texting a 14 year old child about NOTHING ,even if she was tutoring her for school. This is a shame and a crime.The mother don’t need to drop no charges , if this was your child or relative you would think different .
If the mother made false accusations and had fraudulent charges brought againt Vanna, then the mother should be charged to “prove a point.” But if Vanna did committ the acts she is accused up, then she should be held accountable for her actions.

What does the girl have to say in this? Is the 14 year old also a lesbian? is this a case where a woman refused to accept that her daughter might be gay, so she went after the woman she thinks might be trying to “recruit” her? I’ve seen that happen before, where a child was gay and the parent went after the person they think “turned their daugher gay.” As though that somehow undoes the gayness.

I agree IF she committed dis act she should be prosecuted 2 da fulliest extent. But we all kno if this were our child we would try and go after dat person whom we thought influenced our child. Start paying closer attention 2 ur children and u will know whos doing wat.

Well if you really knew the mom, then you should know that she is not gay and never have been. And this a lesson for Vanna to leave children alone. Also, God made woman for man, now you think about it…

I can’t believe the things people are saying on here. All of this is he say she say. yall are calling the mother gay. The child gay. Vanna has admitted that she is gay, so leave everybody else out if you don’t know the truth. The bottom line is, Vanna shouldn’t have been texting a 14 year old girl. PERIOD!!!! Even if she didn’t touch her, she is out of line texting this little girl!!! People would be outraged if it was a man texting this 14 year old girl. It should be the same that it is a woman. If it was my daughter I would file charges too!!!
