Roadsters, a new bar and grill in Columbia, has opened in the Towne Square Shopping Center.

The business is the former Magnolia Lounge and underwent a complete remodel, said owners Sheryl and Donnie Williams, who are married. They purchased the Magnolia Lounge in 2008 and decided that they would either have to remodel it or go out of business.

“Many people said Columbia needed a decent place to come hang out,” said Donnie Williams.  “This is a nice place for people to unwind and get a plate of hot wings.”

Roadsters has new pool tables, dance floor, dartboards and an arm wrestling and boxing machine. A pool tournament is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and there are plans to start a dart tournament.

A food menu with a ribeye, hamburgers, shrimp sandwich and other items is also available. The kitchen at Roadsters has all new equipment.

A live band plays at Roadsters every Friday night and sometimes on Saturdays.  Roadsters has a high-tech laser light show and fog machine that are used during live performances.

On April 23 country music performer Russell Walker of Louisiana will perform.

When a band is not performing, a DJ is sometimes brought in to play dance music, and karaoke will also be featured at Roadsters. The variety of music at Roadsters ranges from country, blues and techno.

Sheryl was working offshore before she decided to devote herself full time to Roadsters, but Donnie still works offshore.

Sheryl traveled the world when she worked in the oil business and said Roadsters has characteristics of different bars she went to in foreign countries such as Spain and Canada.

Posted on the walls of the business are cartoon images of hotrod cars to create a theme for Roadsters.

There are several flat screen TVs in Roadsters, and Donnie Williams plans to feature college and professional football. In addition, there is a large screen in the business, where they hope to offer video games such as Guitar Hero.
