The Columbia Police Department and the Attorney General’s Office were on site at Sunny’s Discount Tobacco and Beer, 350 Broad St., on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the Attorney General’s Office was serving a warrant on the business.
The business was cordoned off with police tape and law enforcement officials were inside the business for several hours.
Interim Columbia Police Chief John Wayne Tolar would not comment on the incident nor would other law enforcement officials on the scene. Tolar said he would have a press statement available Wednesday morning.
